How to Run a Website that Makes Money

There are a lot of ways to make money with a webpage. I'll explain one technique I've learned in order to make money using a

website. First you need to sign up for a free hosting company or a paid commerical hosting company. Paid hosting companies are

better because they give you much more space to upload you website, bandwidth which allows a lot of visitiors, cgi-bin directorys,

and SQL databases. These things allow you to build a much better website with things like bulletin boards, chat rooms, and other

interactive elements. Here are some free and paid hosting companies for a website:

Free Hosting

Webs.com - Really easy to setup a website using 300 online templates. Site included photo and video sharing capacities. Includes blogs, calander, widgets, and more.

Tripod.com - Classic free webhost that has been around a long time. 20 MB disk space, 10,000 free imaces to put on your site, design templates and more.

Paid Hosting

Midphase Hosting - $95 per year - This is the company I use to host my website, and so far it has been really good. I have used this company for about 2 years, and have no complaints. It comes with plenty of hard drive space (250GB), bandwith (300GB monthly), and a free domain name.

ANHosting - $85 per year - Another really good host. Highly recomended by other webmasters I have talked to. It comes with 500 GB of hard drive space, 5000 GB monthly bandwith , a free domain name, and unlimited mysql databases. I am in the process of transfering web420.com to ANhosting.

After you pick your host you must design the website. If you used one of the free hosting companies you can use the online design templates. If you have a paid host then you should use software like Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver comes with a 30 day trial, which is enough time to build most of your site. If dreamweaver is too difficult a program you can find a program for novice website builders on downloads.com.
